Dates of implementation of Malaysian Business Reporting System (MBRS) in Malaysia

Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) has launched the Malaysian Business Reporting System (MBRS) portal on 28th September 2018 to enable Companies to submit the Annual Return (AR), Financial Statements and Report (FS) and Exemption Applications (EA) related to the FS and AR under the Companies Act 2016.

The submission of the Annual Return, Certificate for Exempt Private Company (EPC) and Unaudited Financial Statements via MBRS portal are mandatory in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor commencing from 1st November 2018 and will be extended nationwide as stipulated below:

South Zone (Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor) – 1st January 2019,

East Zone (Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu) – 1st January 2019,

North Zone (Perlis, Perak, Kedah and Pulau Pinang) – 1st February 2019,

East Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan) – 1st March 2019,

The implementation of the MBRS to submit the Audited Financial Statement mandatorily will be fixed on a later date.
